The present study investigates the change between preliminary accreditation system results and floor impact sound evaluation in the field. In order to this, evaluation has been conducted at the construction phase before completion. The resilient materials used in the field are applied to the site using 1st grade of light-weight impact sound and 3rd grade of heavy-weight impact sound. The measurements are limited to households with extended living room, ceiling whit well type, and finishing materials with thickness of 7.5 mm. As a result, it was found that the difference between the performance of the resilient material through the preliminary accreditation system and the site evaluation at the pre-completion phase have been lowered by at least one grade. It was also revealed that there were about (1 ~ 5) dB deviations depending on the household's exclusive use area, the shape of the plan, the space to be measured, and the width and length ratio of the living room area to be measured. As the size of the exclusive use area and living room area increased, the grade of floor impact sound has been lowered. However, it was confirmed that the heavy-weight impact sound is most unfavorably evaluated where the width and length ratio of the living room, where measurements were undertaken, is between 1.0 and 1.1. And the floor impact sound tendency does not appear according to the floor. The research results are intended to be used as a basic data for designing the living room to secure the floor impact sound reduction performance and the introduction of the floor impact sound evaluation system before using approval inspection.
