In the “4.2.1 Alarm and Evacuation Facility for the Visually and Hearing Impaired” category of Barrier Free certification jointly operated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, visual alarms installed in toilets must be installed in a well-visible location. However, there is no clear evaluation criteria for the location of the visual alarm in the bathroom, so it relies on the subjective judgment of the evaluator. Therefore, in this study, we would like to present a clear evaluation method for the location of the toilet visual alarm required by the obstacle-free living environment certification.
